2 motorcylists plunge into river in Osun community

Two motorcyclists, on Monday, plunged into a river in Omu, a community in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun state.

The motorcyclists simply identified as Tunde and Samad were said to have plunged into the river when their motorcycle slipped on the plank used as a temporary bridge in the area.

A source said two of them had died before they could be brought out of the river.

The village head, Mr Mahruf Adekunle, confirmed the incident. He appealed to the government to assist the community in completing the bridge.

He said the bridge has collapsed during a flood in August and efforts by the community to build the bridge have been futile because of the huge amount required.

According to him, “The bridge connects Koka, Omu, Odu, Anjo, Kole villages and other hamlets to the state capital.”
