2 sex workers arrested in Ogun for ‘killing’ customer

Two sex workers have been arrested by the Ogun state Police Command for allegedly clubbing a customer to death over breach of contract.
The Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this to Premium Times yesterday, said the incident occurred in a hotel located in Ifo town of the state.

He said the victim, Adeyinka Olayinka, decided to pass the night with one of the sex workers.
The police spokesperson said an argument broke out between the man and the sex worker, Kudirat Raji, popularly called Angela at the KS Hotel, when the man allegedly reneged on their agreement.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim contracted Kudirat Raji to pass the night with him on an agreed amount, but the deceased reneged on their agreement which led to hot arguments between them,” he said.

He said while the argument was ongoing, Ms. Raji’s colleague, Esther Basiru, broke a bottle which she used to attack a friend of the deceased who was at the scene.
Oyeyemi said Ms. Raji also used a part of the bottle to stab her customer in his armpit, which caused him to bleed to death.
The police spokesperson said the manager of the hotel quickly alerted the police; and the Divisional Police Officer of Ifo Division, Anthony Haruna, led his officials to the scene and promptly arrested the two suspects.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the transfer of the case to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
