All Progressives Congress (APC0 youths in Oyo state yesterday asked Governor Abiola Ajimobi to run for the governorship seat in 2015.
The youth made the call while speaking at a solidarity rally held for him by youths from across the 33 local government areas of the state
They had converged on the popular Mapo Hall from where they marched through Bere, Oje, Gate to the Remembrance Arcade, Government House, where they were received by Governor Ajimobi.
Dressed in branded T-shirts with various inscriptions and holding brooms, the youth demanded that Governor Ajimobi should run for second term in office.

Speaking through, Comrades Balogun Abiodun  Azeez and Ambali Abiodun, the APC youth declared that they were motivated into organising the rally with the performances of the governor in office in the last three years.
They added that they were impressed by the monumental achievements of the present administration in the state with virtually all the sectors of the economy, particularly the urban renewal programme, education, health care delivery, massive infrastructure development and youth empowerment.

While emphasising that it was only if the governor wins again in 2015 that Oyo state could continue to witness good governance and the good work he had started, the youth pledged their continued support for the governor Ajimobi administration, adding that youths in the state were ready to vote en masse for Governor Ajimobi in 2015 for the good work to continue.

Responding, Ajimobi declared that he had no other option than to accept the offer to re-contest for second term, saying: “We could see the youth who have come out in their thousands to express their support for our government and who have also demanded and requested that I run for second term. This, I have gladly accepted and for which I am running.”

“By the 29th of this month (May), we will be three years in office, with good performance, and from that 29th, we shall go all out not only to commission all the projects that we have been able to do, but also to tell the people of Oyo state about our performance and to also tell them that I
am running for the office of the Executive Governor for which we shall win, in the name of the Almighty God.”
