Different groups under the aegis of Goodluck Initiative for Transformation (GIFT) have urged President Goodluck Jonathan to declare his re-election ambition within 30 days.

The groups, in a communiqué issued at the end of a rally tagged “great march solidarity rally in support of President Jonathan’s government to continue in office,” said they were placing the President on notice that “we want him to declare between March 31, and April 30, 2014.”
The communiqué said: “That President Goodluck Jonathan should immediately declare to run for President in 2015, as we believe strongly that his transformation agenda is working, and that need continuity to enable the gains of this transformational leadership fully materialised.

“That we will mobilise and campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-reelection as President in 2015, where all votes will eventually count at the polls.” they said
The gathering believed that the problems facing the country presently did not start in 2011, when the President was elected, saying to expect this government to wave a magic wand and flip a switch that makes all the rot of decades ago vanish is unrealistic and mischievous.”
