2015: Kontagora emirate assures of peaceful election

The newly turbaned Garkuwan Kontagora, Alhaji Ibrahim Wali, has given assurance that the emirate will do everything possible to ensure a peaceful general election come 2015, adding that the youth in the area always listen to him when he talks.

Wali told journalists shortly after his turbaning as the Garkuwan Kontagora, which means defence minister of the kingdom, at the weekend that his contributions to the development of the kingdom has been noticeable even before he was given the title.
“I think what inspired my title today was my contributions, even before the title I am a man that want to put smile on people’s faces, I have been doing it even before the title.”

When asked whether he would one day venture into politics, the business mogul declined that he had never thought of such, saying he was comfortable being a businessman.
“I don’t have such plan, whoever my governor, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, that is whom we will follow.”

The new Garkuwan Kontagora expressed appreciation to the Niger state government over the recent commissioning of some projects in the area.
On many gubernatorial aspirants eyeing governor Aliyu’s seat, Wali advised that they should all sit down on a roundtable and allow a credible candidate to emerge.

Some of his associates who spoke at the event described him as “a community builder and philanthropist whose contributions in the area of education, health, scholarship for students and infrastructure development has distinguished him among his peers.”
