2015: North Central group declares support for Jonathan

A cross-section of youth from the North Central states has declared its support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 presidential ambition.

Declaring the support at the inauguration of the group themed “Consolidation Movement 2015,” the coordinator, Bar. Yakubu Ede, said the development strives of the present administration in the region gave credence to the decision to support the president for 2015.

He said: “These concomitant achievements would undoubtedly increase the economic viability of the entire north central states and Nigeria as a whole. It is therefore, our collective resolution being the consolidation movement 2015 to politically network tirelessly for the re-election of the president.”

Responding, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Student Matters, Comrade Jude Imagwe, said the president had not declared his intention, but urged the youth to support him “when the time comes” if they believe he had done well.

He charged them to keep faith with the government and shun the negative threat of insurgency, adding that “this must be readdressed by the Nigerian youth for the aspiration of a better Nigeria.”

“Your request will be communicated to the president as I am not in the best position to speak on Mr President’s ambition for 2015. Let’s prove the critics wrong by saying enough is enough to insurgency, kidnapping and militancy. We must work for the unity of this country; nobody can protect this country better than us.”
