As politicians map out strategies towards 2015, PDP stakeholders in Plateau Central Senatorial District, yesterday declared that it was their turn to produce the next governor.
In a communiqué issued after a meeting in Pankshin, the zone claimed that it was its turn to replace Governor Jonah Jang, especially since all three senatorial zones had had their slots.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman, North Central, Mr Yusuf Tokit, who read the communiqué, said since all three zones had occupied the governorship seat, the zoning formula should re-start with the central zone.
“The zone has consistently supported other zones and should be supported this time,” the communiqué indicated.
The zone said it had eminently qualified people to vie for the position, and called for unity from amongst members to achieve the dream.
The communiqué condemned the activities of Boko Haram sect, especially the bombing of some parts of the state that led to massive loss of lives.
It sympathised with victims of the three bomb blasts, and called on the all stakeholders and public to condemn every act of terrorism.
It also urged stringent security precautions against future attacks.
Blueprint reports that the zone constitutes five local government areas of Bokkos, Mangu, Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam.
