President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday asked Nigerians to pray for continued peace and prosperity in the country as the 2015 general elections is fast approaching.
The president said this at the Centenary birthday anniversary of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odugade Odulana held at the Cathedral of St. Peter Aremo, Ibadan.

Speaking through the Minister of Information and Orientation, Mr. Labaran Maku, the President noted that it was unfortunate that most of the insurgencies in the country could be linked to the forthcoming 2015 general elections.
Emphasising the need for continued peace and prosperity, he said “there is no reason whatsoever for any Nigerian to be violent.”
Jonathan assured Nigerians that the electoral processes in the coming elections would be transparent in line with the policy of his administration.

He, however, described the Olubadan as “a shining light in exemplary leadership and a king among kings who has always been promoting peace and prosperity among his subjects,” adding that Yorubaland had being a place of diversities where Christianity, Islam and traditional religion thrive peacefully without one hindering the existence of others.”
On the Abuja bomb explosion yesterday, the President mandated the congregation to observe a minute silence for the repose of the souls of the people who lost their lives at the Abuja explosion
Speaking, Governor Abiola Ajimobi attributed the 100 years of existence of Oba Samuel Odulana to his pure heart, devoid of hatred, to his fellow man to his pure heart that is devoid of hatred to his fellow man.
