2017 Hajj: Adamawa commences airlift August 8

A total of 2,600 intending pilgrims from Adamawa state have been screened and enlisted to perform this year’s hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Executive Secretary of the state’s Muslim pilgrims welfare Board, Engineer Umar Abubakar Bobboi, disclosed the development in Yola yesterday while addressing journalists on the preparedness, saying that all arrangements had been concluded for the exercise. Bobboi announced that the airlifting of the intending pilgrims to Madina, Saudi Arabia, will commence on August 8, noting that the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has communicated the schedule of movement to the state. He stated that the intending pilgrims will be airlifted with a Saudi’s based airliner named ‘Flighner Airline’ adding that intending pilgrims across the state would be invited to the offi cial hajj camp 12 hours to their lifting. He stated that so far, the board had sent 1,600 travelling documents to Saudi Consulate offi ce in Kano for processing, stating that National Hajj Commission had already sent its approval to the board through online outlet. Commenting on banned items to the holy land, he advised intending pilgrims to desist from breaching the laws of Saudi Arabia “as it has negative implications to the state and country at large. “Ours, as a board in the state, is to educate and enlighten the intending pilgrims on the dos and don’ts, which we have doing”, he added.
