2018 Hajj: NAHCON tasks tour operators on online registration

Private tour operators have been urged to perfect their e-registration on the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) portal before the closing date of July 25, 2018.
The Commission, however, emphasised that the portal “is not for every tour operators, but licensed ones.” Speaking to Blueprint at the sideline of the training for ICT staff of licensed tour operators at the National Mosque yesterday, NAHCON head of licensing division, Alidu Shutti, said: “This our programme is an important aspect of 2018 Hajj calendar of events for tour operators.
“And this training for ICT staff of license tour operators is an important part in that calendar of events and this shows that the Commission places emphasis on training and retraining of hajj managers.” Continuing, he said: “It is also important because for 2018 Hajj, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj has introduced e-payment and all arrangement for 2018 Hajj are online and the onus lies on the Commission to prepare the relevant staff of licensed tour operators to key into this system of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj because sourcing of accommodation, sourcing of caterers, sourcing of transportation is online including payments.
“Even though they (Saudi government) have started this issue of e-hajj for the past four five years now, for this year, it is 100 per cent e-transaction and there is need for us to avail relevant tour operators of this development for them to key into the system.” The Commission also urged the operators to avail their clients the opportunity of the Hajj guide readily available on Android in English and Hausa languages
