2018 pilgrimage: NCPC opens bids for air carriers, ground handlers

Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), held its bid opening for Air Carriers and Ground Handlers who submitted bid proposal to participate in the 2018 Christian Pilgrimage Exercise to Israel, Greece and Room. Speaking during the opening, NCPC’s Executive Secretary, Rev. Tor Uja, said the Commission was determined to render quality air lift and ground handling services to Christian pilgrims “who embark on pilgrimage to the Holy land.”
According to him, “NCPC has chosen as part of their principles and a Christian entity in Nigeria to show that things will work properly and biblically.” The NCPC boss stressed that in this year’s selection of ground handlers and air carriers, the Commission would adhere strictly to the rules and ensure that the pilgrims got excellent and effi cient services. He said: “As many that will scale through, we want you to provide us witheffi cient and enjoyable services. We do not believe in compromise. The Commission is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that Nigeria pilgrims who would embark on pilgrimage would go in a healthy atmosphere so that they can pray and also come back with a healthier mentality to build the nation.
“I want to assure you all that there is no preferential treatment for any bidder.” He assured bidders that the Commission would maintain transparency and integrity in the process of selecting Ground Handlers and Air Carriers in this year’s pilgrimage exercise. In his remarks, the Board members representing the Ministry of Aviation on the NCPC Board, Engr. Clement Awogbami, assured the Commission that the Ministry would support it and ensure that pilgrims were air-lifted to the Holy Land “successfully, this year.” He disclosed that a Committee would be set up to evaluate all the documents the bidders had submitted and gave the assurance that the process would be transparent.
