2018, year of consolidation – Gaidam

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has said his administration will consolidate on the various gains made in repositioning the public service, public financial management and particularly complete all on-going projects while executing new ones with direct bearing on the lives of all citizens of the state.
The governor was speaking yesterday at a two day superlative retreat organized by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government in collaboration with Royale Criterion Consults.
“This retreat will enable us take further steps towards addressing some of the challenges facing our state, brainstorm on them and chart a way forward. It is very critical to consolidate on various gains made to reposition the public service,” he said.
“I wish to stress that measures taken by our administration were undoubtedly responsible for the tremendous change in the development landscape of our state,” he added.
Earlier in his welcome address, the secretary to the state government, Baba Mallam Wali, said the retreat was to lead the stakeholders through a brainstorm on the implementation of the policies and programmes of the state government for radical improvement.
“I wish to emphasise with Almighty Allah as our guide; we will come together, plan, work and implement the programmes and policies of this government. I wish to state here without any iota of doubt that the government has done massive changes in the state, and we must support the governor,” he reiterated.
Dr. Olu Oyewu, an education consultant to governors’ forum, and Dr. Ibrahim Umar from the University of Maiduguri were among the 10 resource persons expected to present papers at the retreat.
