2019: 200 support groups tackle Obasanjo, Galadima over Buhari

No fewer than 200 registered groups in support of the ruling All Progressives Congress have taken a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Buba Galadima and other members of the Reformed APC for striking a deal against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obasanjo, who had on several occasions slammed Buhari in a series of letters to him, was of the opinion that the President should not seek re-election.

Similarly, some aggrieved members of the APC had also announced their own faction of the party where it announced its executive members presently being led by former ally of the President, Engr Buba Galadima.

But addressing journalists at a press briefing in Abuja at the weekend, Chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Groups, Amb Lawal Mohammed, carpeted Galadima over his refusal to leave the party as one.

Recalling their days in CPC, Mohammed said, “Buba Galadima was simply the manifestation of evil, anarchy and impunity in the democratic process of the previous CPC; one that succeeded in doing more evil and damage on an unimaginably larger scale than the entire corrupt INEC officials put together.

“He controlled the soul of CPC with an impunity that promoted only that which is suffocating to public good and decency. The result of which led to what happened in Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, and several other CPC hopeful states,” he alleged.

He further said that former President Obasanjo’s Third Force and the PDP were misleading Nigerians and trying to cause political unrest.

“In all the PDP governments of President Obasanjon and Jonathan, most of the so-called third force were prominent and active in the perpetuation of higher level of stealing of our common wealth, rather than provide vehicle with wider institution geared towards social, moral welfare and infrastructural reconstruction.”
