2019 AAG Volleyball qualifiers: Nigeria spanks Niger Republic

Nigeria senior men’s volleyball team beat Niger Republic 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20) at the ongoing 2019 All Africa Games Volleyball Qualifiers in Abidjan.

Daniel Nathaniel led the flying hauk of Nigeria to their first victory after the disbandment of the senior team two years ago.

The coach of Nigeria side, Japhet Nuhu hailed the players for putting up top notch performance during the game against Niger Republic.

Nuhu said the team will do everything possible to win their remaining matches.

He said, “We know what is at stake, the players cannot afford to disappoint the volleyball family and Nigerians

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod commended the players for overcoming Niger Republic despite the short notice.

He advised the players not to be carried away by the victory against Niger Republic.

Nimrod said, “I congratulate you for beating Niger Republic, this is the first test out of three.

Nigeria will face Cote d’ivoire on Monday in their second game of the qualifiers ahead of the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco.
