2019: Atiku promises better economy, job creation



The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential Aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has said he would provide sufficiency food, adequate security and improve economy if elected into office come March, 2019.

He made the pledge at August 27 Stadium in Damaturu on Wednesday while on presidential campaign in the state.

“This is the first time someone has been given the privilege to contest under the platform of PDP in the Northeast since democracy came to stay in the country”.

“It is against this background that we hope to eliminate hunger, insecurity and make sure we create jobs to our teaming youths,” he said.

Speaking earlier, the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, called on the electorates to vote PDP at all levels. 

He further assured that the party would not allow security agencies and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the elections.

“The wing of change has arrived in Yobe, therefore you should vote PDP because your votes are your right and it will count. You shouldn’t allow individuals to rig the elections, because it is only PDP that has the most competent candidate in the race”, he said.

There were goodwill messages by the leader of the campaign organisation in the Northeast, Governor Hassan Dankwambo, PDP Stalwarts – Buba Galadima, Adamu Maina Waziri, among others.

The rally was well attended by party supporters across the 17 local government councils of the state in which flags of the party were presented to the gubernatorial candidate in the state, Ambassador Umar Damagum, among other aspirants.
