Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will on December 6, visit the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he will formally declare for the party, the Blueprint has gathered.
According to the timetable of events for the return of the Wazirin Adamawa, his meeting with the leaders on the 6th of December will make way for his triumphant entry at the Eagle Square venue of the party’s national convention on December 9.
The December 6 event would be preceded by his registration at Jada Ward 1 in Adamawa state, which our source said, will not be in the prying eyes of the media.
To this end, political and business associates of the former vice president have been making car donations to him not only to facilitate his movement to PDP but also to win the presidential ticket of the party and eventually the 2019 presidential election.
Twelve Siena cars branded in the colour and umbrella logo of the PDP tagged Atiku for Nigeria, 2019 were among the donations said to have been given to Atiku by one of his business associates.
Blueprint gathered that, while some of the staunch followers of Atiku would decamp and accompany him to the convention, some of them, especially those holding public offices, would join PDP next year to avoid being hounded by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Our correspondent gathered that, seven governors are being expected to join the PDP later next year with some lawmakers from the two chambers, including some of the principal officers, and members of the New PDP who felt they were not fairly treated in the APC.
Others are some of the APC presidential campaign council who were not accommodated in the Buhari government.
Blueprint gathered, some of the Atiku’s supports would remain in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work for his victory as the next president of the country.
