Ibadan

Oyo state coordinator of Coalition for National Movement (CNM), Chief Olayiwola Olakojo at the weekend declared that the formation of CNM by former President Olusegun Obasanjo was not meant to actualise any personal political ambition.
Featuring on Fresh FM Ibadan programme on Saturday, Chief Olakojo said as far as Chief Obasanjo was concerned, it was all over for him on partisan politics, stressing that the former president has on many occasions made it clear to Nigerians that he had retired from active politics.
The former Secretary to the Oyo state Government (SSG) under the Otunba Adebayo Alao- Akala regime emphasized that CNM was initiated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to salvage Nigeria’s future and that it should not be seen as a political party for now.
Chief Olakojo pointed out that there was no basis for anyone to refer to CNM as the third force in the Nigeria political circle as the motives leading to the birth of the coalition were clearly spelt out by the former President at its launch in Abeokuta recently where he officially registered as member.
The former SSG maintained that it was glaring that the coalition was initiated by Chief Obasanjo on realising that it was high time to look for a better of moving the country forward.
According to the state CNM coordinator, Chief Obasanjo, being a patriotic Nigerian, also realised that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could never give Nigerians the needed solution; hence the urgent need to have in place a better solution for Nigeria as a country to forge ahead.
Chief Olakojo said the intention of the former president was to put in place a coalition that could serve as avenue for patriotic Nigerians with like minds to team up to project Nigeria forward by 2019.
Speaking further, he declared that for now, Chief Obasanjo was not ready to accommodate any active member of either the ruling APC or the PDP into the coalition and that the coalition won’t allow itself to be hijacked by the moneybags in the nation’s political circle.
