2019: Ex-Minister Turaki to vie for President

Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has declared intention to vie for president comes 2019, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Turaki, who was the former Minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs, accused President Muhammadu Buhari of ruining Nigeria’s economy through bad policy.
He declared his intention to vie for the office of president in Jos, after accepting the call made on him by the PDP Transform Nigeria Group (TNG), North Central Zone.
Represented by his Special Assistant, Barrister Abdullahi Ibrahim, Turaki, said: “People should consider merits and forget about agitations on the basis of religious, tribal or regional sentiments.”
“I accept to vie for the presidency in 2019”, he said noting the call by the youth was really from the; “bottom of your hearts”.
The National Coordinator of TNG, Alhaji Idris Umar Zahiri, said the resolution to support, Alhaji Turaki, was based on strong character and ability to deliver.
In its swift response, the North Central Media Support Group for Buhari, under Hon. Dasuki Salihu Nakande, in a release issued by Comrade Shittu Tanko, said the claim that Nigeria’s economy was ruined under President Buhari was misinformation of Nigerians.
“It is not news that Nigerians faces economic hardship, and this was as a result of the monumental corrupt practices with impunity under the 16 years of PDP lead administration,” it said.
