2019: Group embarks on grassroots mobilisation for PDP

A political group, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward2Ward Group has said it would soon commence nationwide grassroots mobilization for the PDP, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The National Coordinator of the Group, Mrs Ada Okwori, stated this Thursday in Abuja, at the inauguration of committee for the formal launching of the  group,  at the PDP national secretariat.

She said that the group would  be formally inaugurated in Abuja before the end of November.

Okwori said that such grassroots mobilisation was important if PDP must regain power in 2019.

“Ward to word stands for the unity of the party, mobilization of the grassroots to capture PDP at the ward level for 2019 with campaign team.

“In intend to come back to power we cannot do that without mobilising the peoples at the grassroots.

“It is an NGO affiliated with PDP and we intend to use PDP ward toward to bring and restore its glory in 2019.

“We are motivated by the cry and yearning of Nigerians for PDP to comeback to power.

“We intend to do that buy putting up a very serious mobilisation team at the grassroots with the people that mean well for the party so that by 2019 we can defeat the ruling party.

“The mobilisation will be across the country,”  Okwori said.

She listed the target of the group to include the youths, market women and people currently seeking justice.

Also speaking, a former Minister of Aviation Amb. Kema Chikwe, described the group as key electioneering tool for the party in 2019.

Chikwe said the group intends to adopt, a lot of young and new members would join and work for PDP, especially at the grassroots in 2019.

On her perception about Nigeria politics, Chikwe stressed the need to address self-centered politics

She also called on government, political parties and private sector to ensure that youths and women empowerment were given the needed attention.

“I will advise that youth empowerment should not be left alone for the  government, it should be a private sector driven project.

“As a political party I want our party to invest more in the youths.”
