2019: Group urges Kwankwaso to contest

A group, Kwankwaso Support Initiative (KSI), has called on the Senator Representing Kano Central Federal Constituency, former Governor of Kano State, (Dr) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to contest for President in the 2019 general election.
KSI made the call through a communiqué signed by Chairman, Abdullahi Dahiru Esq and Secretary, Franklin Onyeneke, noting that it’s consensus is for the former Governor to join the presidential race.
“After deliberation and presentations by participants at the save the Nigerian state Conference, 2018 held by Kwankwaso Support Initiative – KSI with focus on Security, Unity and Economy.
“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is the only credible person with the requisite experience, qualities and capability to resuscitate Nigeria’s failed security, unity and economy”, the KSI said urging him “to run for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Kwankwaso contested the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and the former Vice President, Alh Atiku Abubakar where he came second with about 974 votes in the run up to the 2015 elections.

Meanwhile, due to rivalry and political disagreement between Kwankwaso and the incumbent governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in the last three years, Kwankwaso is reported to be one of the Senators in the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) faction of the APC, and who will likely pull out of the ruling party in a matter of weeks.
