2019 Hajj: NAHCON Boss congratulates Saudi authorities for successful hosting



The Chairman if the  National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad has appealed to the Saudi authorities concerned, particularly the Mu’assasah to provide more conveniences at Mashaa’ir(religious sites) areas of Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifah to ease congestion and ensure comfort to the pilgrims during the Hajj exercise.


The chairman made the request during a meeting in Makkah with pilgrims attendants(Mutawwif) for non Arabic speaking African countries.
He congratulated the Saudi authorities for successfully hosting this year’s Hajj and appreciated the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz for his passion, commitment and personal supervision of this year’s Hajj exercise to ensure that those saddle with the responsibilities of providing essential services to the pilgrims did their best in making the Hajj exercise easy for them.
He said, he was delighted with the efforts and sacrifices of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and all Saudi field offices and officials for their tremendous contributions to the  success of this year’s Hajj despite, World Health Organization (WHO) warnings about possible  outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, Corona virus and the meteorological warning of harsh and unfriendly weather.


He commended Saudi authorities for the provision of functional air-conditioning systems that worked non-stop, until the downpour that lasted for over 50 minutes on Arafat day forced the energy company to cut off power supply to avoid accidental electrocution of pilgrims who might unwittingly come into contact with metal objects carrying electrical currents.
Meanwhile, at the meeting, Nigerian Private Tour Operators, expressed satisfaction with the provisions made for a huge success of this year’s Hajj operation, hoping that efforts would be intensified to maintain the success in future exercise.
Responding the the Mutawwif Establishment promised not to relent in their efforts in providing better services to Nigerian pilgrims in particular and all pilgrims globally during the Hajj exercise.
