2019: Kogi guber aspirant promises better deal

Former Regional Manager (North) of the Nigerian Brewery, Malam Mohammed Shuaibu Tete, has volunteered to provide alternative leadership to people of Kogi state as governor in 2019.
Tete, who believed that all is not well with the education, health and social infrastructure in the state, said he could not afford to be a passive observer when the state is going into total extinction.
Tete in an interview with Blueprint claimed the mis-governance in the state arose because Governor Yahya Bello did not campaign round the state to feel the pulse and understand the pains and hardship of the people.
The governorship hopeful expressed dismay at the level of rot in the Kogi state University, Ayingba, which was closed down for a year following which some academic staff, including renowned professors were sacked.
He also observed that, since Bello assumed office over two years ago, he had not commissioned a single project, “while all sectors are dead with our people dying out of frustration because all the hospitals are bereft of drugs; hence the need for intervention.”
According to him, “Kogi state is generally endowed with human and natural resources, explaining that Kogi east is blessed with coal and the newly discovered oil in Ibaji local government, while the West also has oil with the central embedded with a lot mineral resources not to talk of tourism potentials waiting to be leveraged on.”
He further promised to improve on the internally generated revenue (IGR) base of the state with a view to boosting its economy.
