2019: Mega party changes name, logo today

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Mega Progressive People’s Party (MPPP) will today change its name to Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN). In the same vein, the party will change its logo for easy identifi cation on the ballot papers. A statement made available to Blueprint in Abuja, yesterday, by its National Chairman and the National Secretary, Hon Hamisu Santuraki and Alhaji Mohammed Shombi Kanze, respectively, revealed that the move to change name and logo of the party is part of preparation to have better outing in 2019 general elections. According to the statement the change of name would be ratifi ed at the emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party scheduled for today 25th July in Abuja, while the coming November 18 Anambra governorship elections and the state of the nation would also be top on the agenda at the meeting. “We are on top gear for the Anambra governorship election coming up in November 18. We are also working for the 2019 General Election and part of our strategies was changing the party name to Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) from the Mega Progressive People’s Party (MPPP). We are also changing the logo. Th is is the wish of party members to rebrand the party for greater achievements. Th e NEC would also discuss the state of the nation and come up with its position formally,” he said
