2019: No presidential candidate can match Buhari – Amb Lawal

Chairman, Buhari Presidential Support Committee, Northwest Zone, Amb. Lawal Muhammed Munir on Sunday said that there was neither political party nor presidential candidate that can match the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey between 2002 and 2004, who addressed newsmen at APC Northwest office in Kaduna yesterday said, what President Buhari has done in his first four years was unprecedented, hence, the interest of about 1,855 groups coming together to support his reelection bid this February.

According to him, “there is no political party or individual today in Nigeria that can match President Muhammadu Buhari by all standards. I am happy this is happening in Kaduna. Kaduna is my state and I believe in supporting anything that will bring development to the state like what we are going to commission on the 18 of this month.

“We have seen what he has done in the past three years. We will continue to call on Nigerians to vote for him. He remains the credible alternative and we are ready to pull our resources to support his second tenure,” he said.

A member of the committee and former CPC chairman, Sokoto state, Abubakar Aminu noted that, “God has brought President Buhari to address some age-long problems in Nigeria which he has been able to address within the three and a half years, in Sokoto we now enjoy good electricity supply. We have almost 24 hours electricity supply in Sokoto. This alongside improved security in my state are some policies he introduced that has helped us greatly. I’m thinking I’m in the Buhari movement and not a political party.”

In a remark, one of the governorship aspirants of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Dr. Sani Muhammed Bello who defected to APC said, he was happy to move from PDP to APC and donated his former campaign office to the committee.
