2019: Youths urge genuine reconciliation in PDP

Following the Supreme Court judgement resolving the leadership tussle in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a youth group, Atiku National Youth Organisation (ANYO), has called for genuine reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party to ensure their success in the 2019 general elections. Th e youth also called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to accept the appeal extended to him by the leadership of the PDP to return to the party ahead of 2019 general elections.

ANYO, in a press statement signed by its National President, Hon. Hyacinth Harsila, and National Secretary, Comrade Tiku Samuel, said the group had begun to strategise for the former vice president’s presidential ambition. According to the statement, “the invitation to Atiku is a manifestation of his acceptability and the track records of achievement left for the generation to see.” Th e statement added that the youth nationwide, which accounts for 65 per cent of the country’s population and voting strength would provide the framework for positive governance in Nigeria.
