The KFN Supremo particular made mention of how many athletes were sponsored by the federation to an African championship which recently held in Benin republic shortly after their inauguration in July this year, adding; “The sponsorship of our athletes to that championship is in keeping with our strategy of exploring opportunities for their exposure.”

Talking about the recent inclusion of Karate to be part of future Olympic Games, Agara hinted; “The rising profile of Karate as a global sport is capable of building bridges of love, friendship and cooperation among citizens and nations. It is for this reason that its inclusion in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has come to us as a positive development.

“We shall leave no stone unturned as we set to identify athletes that posses the needed potentials on our road to the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. It is my belief that we can only make the desired impact at the global event if we work assiduously on all departments of the game in good time.

“It is my hope and expectation that all stakeholders – athletes, coaches, referees, administrators and sponsors will strive to make our collective dream come true in our determination to place our country on the map of word recognition.

“As a federation, we will open up more opportunities to all athletes regardless of gender, class or ages in order to enable our sportsmen women realize their aspirations. Similarly, we will ensure equal development and promotion of Karate in all the 36 states of the federation, including FCT through sustained courses, workshops, seminars, competitions as well as provision and access to equipment and facilities.”
