2023: 18 parties sign peace agreement in Zamfara 

Representatives of 18 political parties Tuesday signed peace accord ahead of electioneering campaign in Zamfara state.

The occasion which was held at Zamfara Teachers Training Center, Gusau, was chaired by the chairman, Consultative Advisory Committee on Security and commissioner of police, CP. Kolo Yusuf.

Blueprint reports that the parties that signed the peace agreement includes, Action Alliance, Accord Party, Action People Party, African Action Congress, Action Peoples Party, African Democratic Congress, All Progressive Congress, All Progressive Grand Alliance.

Other parties are, Youth Progressive Party, National Rescue Movement, New Nigerian Peoples Party, Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party, Social Democratic Party and  the Young Progressive Party, among others.

In his remarks, the chairman of the Consultative Advisory Committee on Security, CP Yusuf tasked all the party representatives to abide by the law during electioneering campaigns.

He cautioned them not to engage in any form of political thuggry during campaign adding that any political party found wanting will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
