2023: 34 Kwara NNPP candidates go spiritual 

 Candidates of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), for the  2023 general elections in Kwara state Sunday gathered  prominent Islamic clerics to offer prayers for their successes at the polls.

The prayer was attended by the party’s gubernatorial flag bearer,  Professor Shuaib Oba AbdulRaheem, his deputy, a chieftain of the party and Asiwaju Offa, Alhaji Moshood Shittu, and the state chairman of the party.

Also present were all NNPP candidates vying for Senatorial and House of Representatives seats and aĺl  the 24 candidates vying for the state’s  House of Assembliy seats.

The prayer session was led by the Califat Al-Adabiyyah , Sheik Sofiulah Kamalden, and  assisted by other  Islamic clerics in the state.

He prayed for the success of all the candidates and the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso. 

Speaking with journalists on the sideline, the NNPP guber candidate expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the coming general elections, saying  the party was prepared to take the mantle of leadership come 2023.

“Insha Allah, we are doing everything possible to achieve success . We have confidence in Allah and when you have confident in Allah,  you will achieve success,” AbdulRaheem said. 

Asked to assess the level of preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the 2023 elections, the former vice chancellor of the University of Ilorin, hailed the commission for “their impartially” and the introduction of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) in the electoral process.

He condemned the incessant attacks on INEC facilities across the country.

The former chairman of Federal Character Commission (FEC)  admonished the electorate to resist vote buying saying “Vote buying is another  disease that we have to cure.”
