2023: ADC presidential candidate unveils Buhari as running mate

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has unveiled Ahmed Buhari as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.

Buhari was the Presidential candidate of the Sustainable National Party of Nigeria, (SNP) during the 2019 election.

Dumebi at the unveiling of his running mate in Abuja, Wednesday, lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for the state of insecurity in Nigeria.

He said claimed President Buhari has abandoned his duty.

The ADC Presidential candidate who called for President Buhari’s resignation described the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government as deceptive.

He assured Nigerians that “the ADC has come to rescue Nigeria, take it out of its present security and economic woes”.

Dumebi promised that under ADC, the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike will be a thing of the past.

On security, the ADC Presidential candidate said to tackle the insecurity issues in the country, he will recruit more personnel into the military.

He observed that “While terrorists are recruiting the military is not. If we must defeat the terrorists, we need massive recruitment into the military”.

In his remarks, Buhari explained that his acceptance to team up with Dumebi Kachiku and the ADC was borne out of his desire to effect positive change in Nigeria.

According to him, “Many presidential candidates and their running mates have only focused on talking about the Nigerian problem we are all familiar with, while some have decided to publicly attack and assassinate the character of other candidates.”

Buhari said in ADC they only talk about solutions, adding that “it is solutions that will get us out of this mess that has been created out of negligence, laziness, self-centeredness, self-denial and arrogance.

He disclosed that “Dunmebi and I have together with well-meaning Nigerians built a blueprint that has been designed to bring back the lost glory of our dear Nation and put smiles on the faces of the Nigerian people.”

Buhari said for as long as responsibility is not transferred from one generation to the next generation at the right time, a vacuum will be created.

To tackle insecurity, the ADC Vice Presidential candidate said all that was required to solve it is political will.

He assured that they will do everything possible to end insecurity.
