2023: APC ready to take over Bauchi from Bala – Adamu

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has expressed the optimism that the party’s governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd.) will emerge victorious during the 2023 poll.

The APC national chairman stated this at the flag-off rally of the governorship candidate at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

He said the APC had learnt its lesson after losing the governorship seat in the state in the 2019 poll, insisting that the party would legitimately unseat the incumbent, Senator Bala Mohammed.

Adamu said the party has made adequate arrangements to reclaim the state during the election, advising people to support candidates of the APC at all levels in order to ensure a strong footing for the ongoing oil and gas exploration in the state.

“The coming of Marshal Abubakar as governor will change the fortunes of Bauchi state because of his wealth of experience, and God willing, the people will witness good governance and unprecedented development ,especially with the oil exploration in Bauchi.

“We have made a mistake in the 2019 election when we had a miscarriage of power by losing the governorship seat but whatever happened is in the past. The 2023 election is around the corner and we have a new set of candidates. We should massively vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President and Marshall Sadique Baba Abubakar as governor of Bauchi,” he said.

Speaking while addressing supporters and party officials, the APC gubernatorial candidate said the ruling PDP in the state has failed to deliver its campaign promises and therefore should be voted out of power.

He said strengthening the governance system would assist him if given the opportunity to address and overcome challenges in the education and healthcare delivery, and as well empower youth and women for societal development.

He said “PDP has failed, and I am promising you that I will change the narrative in the non-payment of gratuities, salaries and other challenges in the civil service, health and education sectors.”

Sadique begged the people to vote for him and pledged to provide the needed change in the state for economic growth and development, assuring that Bauchi state would soon be salvaged from the shackles of abject poverty, disease and ignorance.
