2023: APC shops for young presidential candidate

Considering its numerous challenges, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has started shopping for a young presidential candidate ahead of 2023 elections.

This was stated by the national youth leader of APC, Barrister Ismail Ahmed, at a parley with stakeholders held at Manpower Development Institute (MDI), Dutse, Jigawa state capital.

Ahmed stated Monday that the party will face a stiff political challenge if it does not present a presidential candidate that could win millions of votes like it happened in 2015 and 2019.

He said: “For the first time in a long time, President Muhammadu Buhari will be out of the equation in 2023 with an entirely fresh candidate that will be expected to win elections for the party.”

He warned that members of the party should not be under the illusion that the elections would be smooth like it used to be.

He said: “Already, the main opposition party, PDP, has about 14 states with mega resources to finance the party.”
