2023: APC stalwart cautions Sen Abbo

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr Abubakar Adamu Digil, has cautioned the Senator representing Adamawa North zone, Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo, representing Adamawa North, Adamawa state, not to allow youthful exuberance to becloud his political thoughts and reasoning.

Digil said he regretted supporting Senator Abbo in canvassing votes in the entire Mubi Emirate council, adding that the senator has failed woefully in terms of quality representation.

According to him, Abbo has by his unguarded utterances destroyed his political career, nothing that his vindictive statements over contemporary issues of politics are now boomeranging as an enemy chasing him to political graveyard.

He said that his words are counting against him to the extent that his supporters are tired of putting up defenses that are not yielding to anything.

Digil said the way and manner Senator Abbo responded to the APC same faith presidential ticket betrayed his loyalty to the party.

He condemned the senator’s statement that, “Buhari, Tinubu, APC chairman and anyone that supported the Tinubu/Shettima ticket to sail through are all potential Boko Haram members.”

Digil accused the Adamawa Northern Senator to professed venom of hatred in any Church gathering he visited, calling on them not to support the Muslim Muslim ticket and anyone that does that is a “potential Boko Haram member” has gone beyond his limit of operation.

He said by his unguarded utterances, Senator Abbo has declared an open war on all critical stakeholders of the APC.

“The implication of Abbo’s statement is simply that President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman, the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and the 15 governors of the party are all potential Boko Haram members because they endorsed the ticket and seen its legibility to win the 2023 elections.

“This is where he is having an issue. This man is busy de-marketing the party in our area, giving the New Nigerian People’s Party undue popularity.

“The question is why is Senator Abbo doing this? It’s because he is fast losing relevance in the political circle of Adamawa state. This is the same person holding the party’s ticket and is busy attacking all prominent party men in the name of fighting for the Christian religion.

“I’m calling for a rescue of our party and the best way to do it is to sanction Abbo by sending him out of the party, even if it means voting against him because is dividing us along religious and tribal lines.

“Take or leave it, Muslims gave him the chunk of votes that today is using and parading himself as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“I want to authoritatively tell you that Mubi is the stronghold of APC but with what Abbo is doing a chunk of the votes will be deflected in favour of parties whose logos are hardly known in the state.

“The party, therefore, has to call Senator Abbo to order or seize his membership card. If he is not going with the party’s collective agenda, and interest there is no way for the party leaders to allow anti-party activities to continue to thrive, it will do more harm than good”, he said.
