The Oyo state coordinator of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is the most acceptable presidential candidate in Oyo state.
Alhaji Gbolarunmi stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan at the weekend to thank PDP members for the Freedom Walk for Alhaji Atiku on Wednesday and the solidarity displayed for the PDP presidential candidate at the Mapo Hall during the Governor Seyi Makinde re-election campaign flag-off.
The former deputy governor of Oyo state stressed that the impressive turnout of the PDP members during the walk and the way they chorused the name of Atiku in the presence of the G5 governors was a manifestation of the love the PDP members in the state have for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
“To the surprise of many onlookers, despite the fact that the G5 governors kept silence on their preferred presidential candidate during the campaign flag-off of Governor Makinde at Mapo Hall on Thursday, members of the party from the beginning to end of the flag-off, the chorusing of ‘Atiku Abubakar’ rented the air”, he said.
“It has shown clearly that our presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is the most accepted in Oyo state. Can we talk about the mammoth crowd during our Freedom Walk or the chorusing of his name at Mapo Hall during the campaign flag-off of governor Seyi Makinde in the presence of the G5 governors, I want to talk about.
“I want to use this medium to appreciate other leaders like Elder Wole Oyelese, Jumoke Akinjide, Engr Femi Babalola Jogor and others for making the walk a success. Also to our teeming members, who trooped out in numbers to show their solidarity and support to our party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar”.
Alhaji Gbolarumi stressed, “for this and other reasons, the party’s presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the most accepted candidate in Oyo state, South West geo-political zone and the country at large.”
He however expressed gratitude to the party members, who came out en masse to show their support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
