The Atiku Haske Organisation has described the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate and running mate respectively as the best combination to salvage Nigeria in 2023.
The Coordinator of the Niger state chapter, of the organisation, Alhaji Aminu Sani Bello, made this known in a press statement made available to the media on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Alhaji Bello, who expressed the party’s satisfaction over the choice of Okowa as Atiku’s running mate, said the combination is a unifying force for the country. He described the Wazirin Adamawa as the best candidate for Aso Rock, noting that his laudable achievements particularly in governance, youth empowerment, as well as ethnic and religious tolerance makes him the people’s choice.
He expressed dismay that Nigeria is facing a complicated situation brought upon it by the ruling All Progressive Congress especially to the younger generation whose hopes were rapidly vanishing, adding that “health facilities in Nigeria today are graveyards, schools are closed because of ASUU’s prolonged strike and 14 million Nigerian children are out of school.
“Today, you hear agitations for the dismemberment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Those agitations are coming from all sections of the country. The economy is in shambles right now. All these put together are created by the type of leadership we have in the country. They are a result of how we have organized and managed ourselves. They were not made by God,” he said.
He said that the organisation has a big hope and confidence in Atiku, just as Nigerians want him to salvage the country in 2023. He noted that the support group has a representation across Niger state and working round the clock to make him fully articulated.
He however enjoined Nigerians especially the youth to support this noble course that will bring a new Nigeria.
