2023: Atiku wins Katsina with 489,045, Tinubu scores 482,283 votes

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has won the presidential election in Katsina state. He defeated his closest rival, Bola Tinubu of the APC.

Declaring the result at the INEC office in Katsina Monday, the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Muazu Abubakar Gusau, said Atiku polled 489,045 votes while Tinubu scored 482,283 votes.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party polled 69,385 votes ahead of Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who got 6,376 votes.

The Returning Officer said the state has a total of 3,516,719 registered voters out of which 1,097,663 registered voters were accredited for the presidential election.

He noted that only 1,058,673 of the voters cast valid votes as 32,514 were confirmed as invalid.
