2023: Borno PDP governorship candidate denies stepping down for Zulum

Borno state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Ali Jajari has denied stepping down for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.

He also described the last presidential election as a sham, saying: “I have never thought of such a thing in my mind. In politics, you people are journalists and can hear lots of things from all angles against or in favour. But that is politics.”

Addressing journalists at a press conference at the NUJ Press Center, Maiduguri, Monday, the PDP governorship candidate said: ”People  of Borno state are already with  the PDP as evidenced during the last presidential election. If not for the series of BVAs failures and technical hitches that resulted in some polling units using manual method of voting method to rig elections by means of over voting, buying votes and the accredited votes as well as  manipulating election results.

”I call in all sons and daughters of Borno that are eligible  to vote to come out and vote. This time around we should ensure proper measures are taken to change leadership in the state.

“We are democratic people and we are always with the people. And we know very well that Borno people like us and we know very well that you people like and wants a change in leadership of the state and nation at large due to the hardships and sufferings the ruling party has visited on you. There is glaring that with your support and solidarity, PDP will form the next government.”
