The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo state, Senator Teslim Folarin, Saturday, received no fewer than 2,315 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo state into the APC.
Senator Folarin while receiving the defectors during a local meeting of the party held at Elekuro High School, Ogbere in Ona-Ara local government, disclosed that they had made the right decision by joining APC at this crucial period in the history of Oyo state.
The APC governorship candidate said the defecting PDP and SDP members will be carried along in all the party affairs as well as ensuring that they benefit from all available opportunities.
Urging the defectors to go to their respective wards and attend party meetings regularly for updates and other things concerning the party, Senator Folarin tasked them to work for the victory of APC in the 2023 general elections.
Welcoming the PDP and SDP members to APC, the Chairman National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, assured them of fairness and equity in Oyo APC.
“I welcome you to our great party, APC as new members, and assure you of all rights accrued to the rest of our members.We will ensure that you benefit from every opportunity regarding the welfare of members without sentiments”.
Alhaji Ibikunle then charged the new members to aggressively mobilise for 2023 electoral victories of all APC candidates..
Mogaji Victor Akinyemi Akinjide led defected PDP members while Elder A Kalejaye led the former SDP members with other leaders including Pa Akintayo, Hon. Kolawole Waliyu (Ikoko) and Alhaji Amidu Olapade to join the APC.
