2023: I’m in Benue guber contest on rescue mission – Dr Ubwa

Benue state governorshipaspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Dr Ubwa Sunday said he will improve on agriculture and open rural roads to enable farmers transport their goods to the market if elected in 2023.

Ubwa also said he is not contesting for governor of the state to improve his fortunes but to contribute his quota to the development of the state.

Ubwa said this Sunday when he met the PDP stakeholders in the Benue North East senatorial zone popularly known as Zone A, in Makurdi.

The aspirant said the state is blessed with arable land, stressing that he would encourage Benue people to embrace mechanised agriculture.

“I will encourage them to also venture into processing and stop selling their yields as raw materials but process them and sell as finished products thereby enhancing their income.

“If you want to improve agriculture you also consider construction of roads, and if you want to process, you must have electricity. Of course you also need security. I will make sure that all these things are provided.

“Because I have travelled widely and have garnered the experience, I think I will be able to perform my duty well if given the mandate come 2023,” he added.

The Zone A Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Azua Ashongo, while speaking, advised governorship aspirants in Benue to base their consultations on what they would do for the state against insulting their fellow aspirants.

The chairman said any aspirant that would embark on consultations of insults and calumny would be disqualified by the party outright.
