2023: Kogi PDP blasts Sahara Reporters over ‘misleading’ report

The Kogi state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that no amount of media campaign of calumny against the party could distract it from its mission to rescue the nation from its present predicament.

The party stated this while refuting a publication by Sahara Reporters on their January 22, 2023, edition with the caption “Gov Yahaya Bello lobbies PDP National Leaders, Vows to Deliver Kogi to Atiku.’

According to the party, the report was “false, malicious and a figment in the imagination of the sponsors.”

It insisted that Adamu Mahmoud Atta, the former senatorial aspirant, was not working with Governor Bello.

At a press conference held in Lokoja on Friday, the director-general, Adamu Mahmoud Atta Support Group for Atiku/Okowa, Chief Sam Abenemi condemned those “desperately working to rubbish in the mud the good name and principles on which the party stands.”

He said the members of the PDP would not get involved in any form of anti-party activity “at this critical moment of the party history,” disclosing that both members and supporters had subsumed their ambitions into the overall interest of the party.

According to him, the enemies have gone ahead with their concocted story to link the hardworking member of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mahmoud Atta, to Governor Yahaya Bello in the said publication.

He explained that the story purportedly averred that Governor Bello had been in talks with the leadership of PDP to ensure that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan “loses her case in the court to enable Adamu Mahmoud Atta to replace her.”

“The hatchet job must be condemned in its entirety and be viewed as the handiwork of those who do not wish PDP in Kogi state well, but are only interested in their parochial, ambitious and penchant to grab power by all costs.”
