The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna campaign management committee has said the leader of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, is 100 percent behind the Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid and Isa Ashiru Kudan’s governorship election come 2023.
The Assistant Director Media and Publicity, Kaduna PDP Directorate of Campaign Management Committee, Hon Victor Matthew Bobai , who accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of sponsoring internal crisis in the party, said Alh Makarfi remains focused on leading the People of Kaduna to return power to the People and institute a PDP leadership by 2023.
He said, “The APC government had brought deliberate division in Kaduna by creating huge religious and ethnic problems, deliberately refused to tackle Insecurity , mismanaged economic and political opportunities.
“The APC is not ready to go due to mismanagement issues and is doing everything to collaborate with certain individuals within the PDP to set internal crisis as part of their strategy of divide and rule , which could be described as “yet another pitiable and disgraceful manner of wanting power beyond 2023”.
He the APC has resorted to fabrications, insults and attempts to invent allegations against a good name Senator Makarfi.
“Makarfi is committed to the project of returning PDP back to power in Kaduna and at the federal 100 percent.
“Makarfi has been investing his personal resources ever since PDP lost out in 2015 till date,” he said.
According to him, Senator Makarfi is has over the years refused to move an inch from the PDP because he believes totally in the principles of the party and its culture of fairness and Inclusivity.
The statement reads in part; “Leave Makarfi Alone. He is 100% committed to Atiku and Ashiru project , all the accusations against senator Makarfi are tissues of lies sponsor by enemies of the people of Kaduna because the APC, deliberately dismantle the PDP system established by governor Makarfi from 1999 to 2007 , and subsequently from 2007 to 2015.
“Elrufai and his cohorts in PDP should leave Makarfi alone and face their self-inflicted resentment from citizens of Kaduna by answering for their misrule. Makarfi has been enlightening Kadalites on how oppositions should team up against the APC and ensure that a united front agitates for a come back of PDP in Kaduna by 2023.
“It is despicable that the APC have not yet realized that Kaduna citizens are aware that since their apology fell and all the strategies they employed against the emergence of Ashiru as the PDP gubernatorial candidate, they have become nervous and desperate to invent any means to frame and drag down Makarfi the master planner , a plot that has already failed.
“It is indeed not surprising that the APC, in its desperation, is now playing the opposition, which is a role fitting of it, being that it does not have the mandate of the people; the very reason it cannot command the respect, loyalty and support of the citizens in the midst of its misrule.”
“Makarfi as a leader loved by majority of Kadalites , has never faltered in displaying the highest sense of patriotism, restrain and decorum in his positions on unity and harmonious relationship in Kaduna . Senator Makarfi is standing with overwhelming majority of Kaduna citizens and therefore, cannot be intimidated or distracted from pursuing the ultimate fight for PDP come in 2023.
“Instead of some of this stakeholders in Kaduna to join Senator Makarfi to democratically force the APC out of governance in Kaduna,they are brewing cold feets in the party affairs, refusing to make financial contributions and also participate at key functions like when Makarfi led in company of the gubernatorial candidate and the PDP family to meet with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna branch, Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) , Meeting with Islamic leaders and hosts of others.”
