The grand patron of all Atiku Support Groups in Oyo state, Elder Wole Oyelese, has said the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is what Nigeria needed in 2023.

Elder Oyelese said this while speaking with journalists at his investiture as the Grand Patron of the over 400 support groups in Ibadan.

The PDP leader in Oyo state, also the former Minister of Mines and Steel pointed out that it was necessary for all the groups to come together for better coordination so that the sole aim of the groups, which is victory for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2023 presidential election can be achieved.

“What we are doing here today, is to bring together over 400 support groups Collegiate together, their Coordinators and Secretaries are here and the representatives from Abuja are here to register them”, he said.

Elder Oyelese added, “the collegiate groups are all over the country, and it is better and necessary to be coordinated, to be more effective and efficient, and to be better prepared for the task ahead.

“What we are doing today has not been done anywhere in Nigeria, we are pacesetter, each coordinator and secretary of each group are here. We are mobilising heavily for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in Oyo state so that we can increase the baseline of the number of votes he had in 2019”.

Elder Oyelese maintained further, “I want to say this, the groups will also work for other candidates of the PDP in Oyo State, right from House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and the Governor, if they also works for the presidential candidate of the party”
