2023 presidency: Pro-Bala group visits Iwuanyanwu

A group loyal to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, known as Coalition of Civil Society for Transparency and Good Governance (CCSTGG), conversing support for his 2023 presidential ambition, Monday visited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees(BoT) member, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

The delegation led by its chairman, Chief Marshal Kunoun, stated that Bala Mohammed “is a credible politician who has national acceptability to become the president of Nigeria”.

The group stated that they came to Owerri to seek support and advice from the elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

They maintained that the support and mobilisation from people like him was a guarantee of the realisation of their request of good governance come 2023 and appreciated him for his stand on national issues which they pointed out, would be a great motivation to the realisation of the ambition.

In his response, Chief Iwuanyanwu said Bala Mohammed was a long time friend who had the capability to rule the country, but should consult widely. He reaffirmed his commitment to a united Nigeria as it was better to have one Nigeria “since God has a purpose of bringing us together as one nation.”

Going into memory lane on the cause of the Nigeria civil war and its negative impact today, he prayed that nothing like that should happen to the country again and advised leaders to thread with caution by handling present issues affecting farmers and herders, disrupting the peaceful co-existence of Nigerians.

He finally appreciated the role Bala Mohammed played during the Doctrine of Necessity and declared that “it is the quality needed from a patriotic and diligent Nigerian.”
