2023 presidential election: Atiku wins Adamawa

PDP presidential candidate and Nigeria’s former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has been declared winner of Saturday presidential election in Adamawa state.

Declaring the result of the presidential election in the state yesterday in Yola, INEC collation officer for the state Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele of the University of Maiduguri said that, PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar polled 417,611 votes to emerged winner of the election in Adamawa state.

Atiku won in 20 out of the 21 local Governments in the state which includes Demsa, Lamurde, Ganye, Jada, Toungo, Mayo Belwa, Shelleng, Guyuk, Hong, Gombi ,Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, Madagali ,Fufore, Yola South, Yola North, Gerei, Maiha and Song local government areas, respectively.

He was followed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All progressive Congress (APC) who scored 182,881 votes to come second but without winning a single local government in the state.

Tinubu is followed by Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who polled 105,648 votes to emerge third; he won Numan LGA as well as Rabiu musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who scored 8,481 votes to come fourth in the election.

According to him, the state have a total registered voters of 2m,186,465 voters out of which 764,834 were accredited for the election adding that,761,621 votes were casted in the election with total valid votes of 731,621 and 3048 rejected votes recorded in the election.

However, with this result the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has won the state with the margin of 234,073 votes.
