Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Thursday in Ilorin said he has set aside US10 billion to create jobs for women and youth if elected in 2023.
“I have set aside in my programme, US10 billion to make youth and women get emeployment,” Atiku said.
He said the Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) will also be empowered to create jobs for the teaming population of Nigeria youth.
The former president of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, asked Kwarans and Nigerians to kick out what he described as “incompetent and non- performing” ruling All Progressive Congress ( APC) government in 2023.
The duo spoke at the flag- off of PDP presidential campaign for the North central held at the metropolitan square, Ilorin the capital of Kwara state.
The campaign was attended by the former senate president, Aldophus Wabara, former speaker of the 8th assembly and chairman PDP camapign organisation, Alahi Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Governors Godwin Obaseke of Edo state , Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom who doubles as the director general of the Atiku Abubakar campaign council, senator Dino Melaye, former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state amongst others.
Speaking at the campaign rally, Atiku told the large PDP members and supporters at the rally that his campaign train was in the state ” to return Kwara to the main stream of Nigeria politics” haven heard their popular slogan (Osuwa ), meaning “we are fed up” of APC government.
He said the APC lied and deceived Kwarans to attain power in 2019 but were let down by the government.
