2023: Ubosi urges Ugwuanyi to hand over to Enugu East

Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Edward Uchenna Ubosi, has called on Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to make sure that he hands over power to an Enugu East Senatorial Zone person, come 2023.

Ubosi was speaking on the conjecture and projections about who would be governor when Ugwuanyi completes his second tenure that has been gathering momentum for sometime.

Speaking at Government House, Enugu on Saturday, at the solidarity rally organised by former and current political office holders who served during the Ebeano political days, a political philosophy originated by former governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Ubosi said Ugwuanyi should tow the rotational power agenda in the state and hand over power to any person from Enugu East Senatorial District.

Ubosi said it did not matter whoever the governor would annoint to succeed him but it must be from Enugu East so that the political equation is not broken in the interest of peace in the state.

“Make sure you hand over to a person from Enugu East Senatorial Zone and give it to whomever you like,” he exalts.

He expressed happiness that the solidarity rally has made it possible for friends to see one another again after many years.

“It is only God that did what we are seeing here today.  I have not seen some people for the past 15 years.  This is a political resurrection.  Some people who had died politically have resurrected.  It is only someone like Gov. Ugwuanyi that can remember yesterday.

“It is only a lion that can lead Ebeano.  Chimaroke led Ebeano and Ugwuanyi is managing Ebeano very well because he is a product of Ebeano,” he eulogised Ugwuanyi.

In his address, Gov. Ugwuanyi described the political gathering tagged, “Ebeano for Gburu Gburu,” as a family reunion, saying that the solidarity was a show of support for him and his administration.

He praised Senator Nnamani who as a governor engineered a political family called Ebeano.
