2023: We must vote wisely to end insecurity, poverty in the land – Kastina PRP governorship candidate 

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Katsina state, Hon Imran Ja’afar Jino, has lamented the level of insecurity and poverty bedeviling the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Jino said this Monday while receiving a commendation award bestowed on him by  the management of Hausa Daily Post in Katsina.

In a statement by the newspaper and made to Blueprint in Abuja, Jino was quoted as saying: “In our dear Katsina state and Nigeria as a whole, we are facing serious security challenges which have led to increased poverty among our people. These are issues that should guide the choices of leaders we must make at all levels in 2023. We need to get it right and give the right people the opportunity of providing the right leadership.

“Yes, the people are fed up, but they must be ready to change their lots by voting rightly and wisely. I am offering my self to serve the people and change their living standard for the best. People’s welfare is a major thrust of any government as enshrined in the Constotution. So, as a state and as a nation, we can’t afford to continue suffering. Now is the time to act,” Jino said.

Receiving the award, Hon Jino thanked the Almighty God and the organsiation for considering him worthy of the recognition.

He said: “For me, the award is a recognition of my service to the people and humanity. I give gratitude to Almighty Allah and indeed your organization for considering me worthy of this. let me say here that I am not taking this for granted. Rather, it will spur me on to do more in the service of our people.”

Earlier, the newspaper’s chairman, Engr. Adamu Attahiru, had said their choice of Imram  was informed by the level of his  dedication and support to the people in the areas of  youth education and  the needy, as well as his commitment to improving the small scale businesses in the state.

Represented by editor of the title, Abdulrazak Ahmad Jibia, who also doubles as the commercial officer, Attahhiru said supporting youth’s education, the needy as well as the small entrepreneurs remained the best way to ginger development at the grassroots and nip the menace of insecurity in the bud.

Present at the award presentation were party supporters as well as Jino’s friends and well wishers including Habila Yahuza and  Mansur Tandancy among others.
