2023: Why I’m gunning for Reps – Ehirim

A House of Representatives hopeful for Owerri federal constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr Ogueri Ehirim, has disclosed that the need to ensure equity, justice and fairness among his constituents informed his desire to vie and represent his people.

Ehirim made it clear that it was the turn of Owerri Municipal to have a shot at the federal seat since other local government areas in the federal constituency, like Owerri North and Owerri West have all had their turns at different times.

He gave his assurance that if given the opportunity to serve, he would make sure that the constituency was heard and seen on the issue of legislative activities and ensure that basic amenities were attracted and that it would be done with utmost dexterity.

“I believe as a lawyer, with 20 years experience, with my legal skills, I am fortified and equipped to handle issues of law making efficiently and effectively. As a lawyer, I don’t need to start learning how to make laws or propose bills or engage other lawyers for legal drafting like others do. And with age on my side and the needed maturity, I am also more equipped to handle the delivery of the dividends of democracy,” he said.

He assured that during his tenure, about 100 youth would undergo training every year and in four years, 400  would be successfully empowered
