2023: Zamfara Ulama hail APC govt, back Tinubu

The Zamfara Council of Ulama has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state under Governor Bello Matawalle as well as the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Consequently, the Ulama pledged to support the APC in the 2023 general elections.

The party’s publicity secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris, in a press statement Friday, said they made the declaration in Gusau during a meeting with the state coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa.

Senator Marafa had told the Islamic scholars, Juma’at Mosques Imams and their deputies, Muazims and others that his conviction in the Tinubu project was “borne out of the presidential candidate’s track record of achievements which are practically verifiable and standing him from the presidential candidates of other political parties.”

Marafa said, as a two-term governor of Lagos state, Tinubu left an enviable record cutting across economic, social, empowerment and political developments.

Responding, on behalf of the participants, the chairman, Zamfara State Council of Ulama, Sheikh Abubakar Fari, and the chairman of Imams of Jumat Mosques who doubles as the Chief Imam of Gusau Central Mosque, Sheikh Liman Muhammad Dan-Alhaji, said they were convinced beyond doubts that Tinubu was unequalled and would “be the next best thing that will happen to Nigeria.”
