20years after, Abacha support group ressurects, marks ‘2million man march’ anniversary

A group loyal to the late Military president, Gen. Sani Abacha, on the platform of Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha (YEAA), has bounced back to political limelight, even as it unfold plans to launch a roadmap for the country, tagged ‘Vision 2030 for Nigeria.’
Leader of the group, Daniel Kanu, however asked the Nigerian youths to use their numerical strength to vote in the right leadership in 2019.
Kanu, while unfolding plans Monday in Abuja, to mark the 20th anniversary of the popular two million man-match for Abacha under a new platform known as New Deal Organisation said Nigerian youths have a responsibility to reflect on the past years and be able to forge a bright future.
He said that a quick reflection on the past revealed series of misstep, regime policies that are based on vendatta, resentment and self aggrandizement, adding that these action poses imminent threat to the unity and success of the nation and can lead to failure as opposing sides retreat to the battle ground instead of cooperating to achieve growth and success.
According to him, constant policy flip-flop and lack of the ability to energize the people to key into the policies of government are the bane of our success, adding that for for Nigeria to succeed beyond rhetorics, all citizens must be carried along irrespective of tribe, religion, gender and class.
He said that currently, 90 percent of the Nigerian economy is dependent on fossil fuel, adding that Nigerians must take immediate steps to prevent future economic catastrophe because the world is moving away from fossil fuel and trending towards clean energy such as wind and solar energy.
He maintained that to make progress as a nation, Nigerians must plan and implement a blueprint that will lay a solid foundation for the rapid, fair and just development of the country.
While lamenting that the vision 2010 document was discarded by successive governments, even though the content still remain valid and call for a review of the 33 point document to address the present realities.
