At least 250 members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe state have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a view to moving the party forward.

Receiving them during a reception in honour of the new Gombe state PDP chairman at the weekend at Boh in Shongom local government area, the state chairman, Mr. Shu’aibu Baba Sabulu, urged them to be vanguard of change.

He said their defection to the PDP was not a mistake, but a wise decision, reiterating party’s commitment which, according to him, will carry the defectors along in order to move the party forward.

He stressed that the administration of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo would not relent in supporting the party.
Sabulu advised them to be cautious in order not to be deceived by individuals or group of persons “who do not want the progress of the present administration.”
Speaking at the event, Governor Dankwambo who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Thaanda Jason Rubainu, said he was optimistic of PDP’s victory in 2015, and commended the new members for defecting to the PDP.
He enjoined party faithful in the state to be law abiding, urging them to love one another in order to make the party strong.
